Finding the Best Concealer

What is the best concealer? It depends on what you want to conceal! Here is how you can select the best one for you:

Best for Undereye Circles and Darkness: For most, a regular flesh tone concealer will do. It sould be a shade lighter than your normal skin tone. For dark bluish undereyes, use a yellow based concealer to neutralize the blue. For dark undereyes that are in the brown family, use peach or apricot concealer to neutralize.

Best for Reddness: Use green to conceal redness from blemishes, scars or rosacea.

Best Concealer for Larger Areas: Concealer is best to spot cover areas, like acne spots or under eye circles. To conceal a larger area or to correct or enhance your entire complexion, use a colored makeup primer to do the trick. Use a peach or apricot primer if you have age spots, hyperpigmentation or dark areas. Use a lavender primer to neutralize and correct a sallow or yellow complexion. Use a green primer to conceal redness. Primers come with added benefits - they can also conceal enlarged pores and fine lines and wrinkles. They will also help your makeup stay on longer.

Concealer Application Tips: You can apply and blend your concealer with a brush, a sponge or your fingertip. When applying and blending under your eye, protect the delicate tissue by using your ring finger - it is your weakest finger.
