I received my Tarte Glow Your Way to Gorgeous TSV yesterday (it airs July 2, 2011 on QVC) and I am absoutely thrilled with it. My first thought was that this is a really good value at $49.92. Everything came packed in the adorable purple cosmetic bag – which is a great size – and was a nice touch to already have it packed and ready to go.
There were also two unannounced surprises in the bag! One is a full size mineral bronzer in a gorgeous shade called Park Ave Princess. The other is a 7 ml bottle of pure maracuja oil. So, thank you Tarte and QVC for the lovely and unexpected bonuses!
I applied the makeup this morning and snapped a few photos for you. The picture to the above and to the right are of the complete set as you receive it. Here are my photos and swatches along with my first impressions of the products.
I ordered the kit in medium. I wear medium in everything and I always wear the color that they say “80% of all women can wear this shade”.
First, the case is adorable. It looks tiny in this picture – but it is a perfect size. It has slots for the brushes, mascara, shadow liner and lip gloss on one side and a zippered pouch on the other. It is a great makeup bag.
The Maracuja Concealer is a worldwide launch in this kit. I used it this morning and like it so far. Usually I wouldn’t comment on a concealer until I havd used it numerous times, but my first impression is very good. What I really like about it is that it is illuminating and it really brightens the eye area. I am thinking using this concealer will eliminate the need for a separate eye brightener or illuminator.
The Amazonian Clay Waterproof Cream Shadow Pot with shadow brush in shimmering taupe is a great everyday color. It is not too dark, not too light – it is just right, Goldilocks. I love it. I used eye shadow primer before brushing this on and I didn’t even have to smudge or blend it at all. Love it. It comes with a great brush that made it super easy to use. This will definitely be one of my go to colors this summer, especially when I just want one color to apply.
Amazonian Clay SmolderEYES waterproof eyeliner Fig. This is a new color that is described as plum brown. It is also a nice everyday color. I was able to get a perfect line on my upper and lower lashes. Sometimes when I use a shadow liner I end up with a line that is too thick under my lower lashes. This was great and I was able to get a thin-ish line. I didn’t have to smudge this either, it went on so nice – but it does have a built-in smudger on one end. There is also a sharpener for this thicker than regular eyeliner pencil, which is much appreciated!
I don’t have a photo of the Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara in Black. It is my first time using it and again, I usually don’t comment on mascara until I’ve used it several times at a minimum, but my first impression is good. Even my best friend asked me what mascara I was wearing today, because she thought it looked good. The packaging is so cute, it is a purple, faux leather croc embossed tube.
12-Hour Wear Clay Blush in peaceful. This is a new soft rose shade and includes a really nice Blush Brush. This is a shade I would never pick out for myself, because it looks a little coral-ly to me and I usually stay away from corals. However it is very pretty on and I like it. One warning – it is potent and just a tiny bit will do.
I’m not sure the picture on my arm does it justice, but I hope you can get the idea. You can tell that it is such a natural color, that it looks like my arm could just be red.
This is the mineral bronzer that is included. It appears to be full size. The color name is Park Ave Princess and I love it too. Like the eye colors, it is just right – not too dark, not too light.
The lip color is a Lipsurgence Lip Luster in Glisten. It is a new shade that is described a peachy-pink. It is like a big lip gloss crayon, which I quite like. The color is very sheer, but pretty.
My first impressions of this kit are very positive. I think it is a great value and can easily fill your make up needs for the rest of the summer. The colors are just perfect for everyday and casual wear and are right on trend for the season.
The price for the kit is $49.92. It is currently available to pre-order with 3 Easy Payments of $16.64 with item number A218483.
The item number on 7/2/11 will be A217165. I’m not sure if the Easy Pays will be available when it is presented on air.
There is also an Auto Delivery available. It includes additional 8 piece sets in new seasonal colors in October 2011 and February 2012. The auto-deliveries will also be on Easy Pay if you requested it with your initial order. The pre-order number is A219234. The number on July 2 will be A219175.
