How to Apply Liquid Eyeliner

Have you ever wondered How Do You Apply Liquid Eyeliner so it looks tidy and “just right”?

Unlike a dry pencil or powder eyeliner, liquid eyeliner is applied using a fine brush. The tubes in which liquid eyeliner comes have been designed in such a way that they only release a little product at a time. This design means you can control how heavily or lightly you apply it. This beauty product is not limited to black, by the way. You can get liquid eyeliner in many colors.

The advantages to learning how to apply liquid eyeliner are several. For one thing, eyeliner doesn't fade like a pencil tends to. The brush for applying liquid eyeliner provides the ability to get very detailed. Better still, most companies have created their eyeliners to be water resistant (no more black runny lines when you get caught in the rain!).

Apply Liquid Eyeliner - Step by Step:

Like many makeup tips, it will take a little practice to figure out how to apply liquid eyeliner so that you like the end results. However, these ideas will get you started in the right direction:

* Keep eyeliner limited to along the line of your top lashes. This is especially important if you have dark circles, puffiness, or wrinkles. Eyeliner under your eyes will emphasize those points, not your eyes.

* Some people find that drawing one continuous line provides a very smooth look. If you don't have a steady hand, however, you can apply the liner in short dots or dashes and use that as an outline for the finishing stroke.

* Always start out lightly. You can always add more, but its a pain to remove too much without ruining the rest of your makeup. Also, the eyeliner at the inside of the eye near the nose should be thinner than the exterior eye.

* Apply any base and concealer before putting on the eyeliner. Base improves the longevity of your eye makeup.

* To avoid smudges close your eyes for a minute after applying eyeliner so it dries properly.

* Do not try to apply liquid eyeliner when there are children and pets nearby. The distraction inevitably causes mistakes (including poking yourself in the eye!).

* Don't get too fancy initially. Take your time and practice with basic black or brown. You can pull out colors when you're more adept.

* If you have very light eyelashes put your mascara on before eyeliner so you can see clearly where to apply it.

* Buy a trusted, good quality eyeliner. Cheap ones can clump and may not live up to your expectations in terms of longevity and smudging.

If you follow these basic guidelines you'll find that you learn how to apply eyeliner fairly quickly. If for some reason it just never works for you, then consider a pencil or gel liner instead. Go From Liquid Eyeliner to How To Apply Eyeliner
