How to Apply Eye Shadow / Eyeshadow
Eye Shadow
When it comes to Eye Shadow, there is an almost overwhelming selection. It can make a huge difference in your look
and can really emphasize your beautiful eyes. With so many colors and types available, how do you choose? Do you need one
color, two, three, or more? How many times do you buy a set with more than one shade and end up only using one shade?
To make the best purchase (and not end up with yet another product in your cosmetics graveyard) you need to decide
what look you want to achieve. Do you want your eye makeup to look natural, classic, professional, dramatic or gothic?
Do you really need to step it up a notch for a special occasion? Do you need to know which colors to choose to emphasize
your own eye color? Should you match your eye makeup to your clothes or your eye color?

Eye Makeup Base
Until you have used an eye makeup primer, you will never believe the difference it can make. My preference is the Urban Decay Primer, but the Bare Vitamins one is good also. When you use this your eyeshadow will stay in place until you take it off and it will not smear or crease - it is a one of those products that you will wonder how you lived without it.
A less expensive alternative - I do love that cute little Genie bottle and the product is fabulous - but it isn't cheap and it is very hard to get the product out of the bottle - you have to remove the inner rim of the bottle (with needle-nose pliers - I learned that from a beauty forum!) to get to the second half of the product. Recently I joined BeautiControl for their skin care products and stumbled upon their Eye Shadow Control Cream. I figured it wouldn't be as good as the more expensive primers - but much to my delight it is every bit as good. They make it in three colors - neutral, pink and taupe. You get a one-half ounce tube for $8 and it just takes a tiny dot of the product - it will last a very long time and is much more economical than the better known brands. I have also started using the taupe as a shadow on casual days to give a bit of color without going the full route - so it doubles as a cream eye shadow. If you would like more info you can check it out here - Eyeshadow Control Cream.
