Dark Eye Makeup

Dark Eye Makeup Do you need Dark Eye Makeup? If you have dark brown or black eyes, you may find yourself wondering how best to choose eye makeup. The makeup industry is huge, and offers a great variety of eye makeup and mascara. That variety, however, can seem very daunting when trying to choose.

With that in mind, let’s look at some makeup basics to get you started.

Bright Eyes:

If you feel your eyes seem dull or get lost on your face, then you’ll want to choose eye makeup that will brighten and help your eyes pop. To do this you need to consider what shade of brown or black exists in your eyes. People who have slight yellow touches, for example, want to seek out the complimentary color for that – namely purple. Those with orange traces should look to blue eye makeup to help their eyes stand out.

Hint: Your Face as a Pallet

Dark Eye Makeup Remember that accenting your eyes with the right makeup is only one part of the beautifying process. You’ll need to match your base, eye liner, and lipstick to whatever image you’re trying to create. For example, dark colored lipsticks will help your eyes stand out more.

Playing to your Features:

Brown and black eyes are sultry in their own right, and there are ways to really flatter this feature. When you want to simply focus on the richness of your eye color, choose dark eye makeup in a gold metallic, rusty brown, brandy, or even a pastel pink. To this foundation consider using an eyeliner and even glitter mascara if you want serious drama.

As you experiment with different makeup for dark eyes, also try mixing-n-matching your eyeliners. See how the pink, for examples, looks combined with an earthy-brown. Remember you don’t have to go heavy on eyeliner especially with dark eyes. Just a little provides definition and depth. Another nice color combination is chocolate with Aubergine.

Shape It:

Dark Eye MakeupNo matter what color you finally choose, the way you apply your eye makeup can change the way your eyes look even in shape. Use gradation and contours from the lash line upward or the brow downward to see what kind of effects you can achieve.

The Bottom Eye-Line:

Dark eyes are the easiest to adorn. They can accept so many colors without looking overdone. This means you can often match your dark eye makeup to your wardrobe – be it green, blue, or gray, you can wear it! Light colors generally make your eyes seem natural, while dark colors give a looks-could-kill striking result. No matter what, however, please remember to check your chosen eye shadow against your skin tone. A miss match there will make your dark eye makeup efforts fall flat.
